Chandigarh – Saint-Barts

In 1955, Pierre Jeanneret settles in Chandigarh, capital of Punjab, India, in order to assist his cousin, Le Corbusier, build this new city.

Jeanneret produces a series of innovative lines of furniture for several of the city’s public buildings: sofas, chairs, armchairs, stools, tables and desks...

The furniture was built in situ by Indian craftsmen within the framework of the “Low Cost Furniture” programme.

The material used was essentially massive teak and Indian rosewood, the shapes were “X”s, “U”s and “V”s.

At the Hotel La Banane, St Barts you’ll find some collected original pieces of this furniture.

Chandigarh – Saint-Barts, a journey in time and space.

Authenticity, a touch of elegance, the simplicity of modern times.

Unique furniture that tells a story, the history of which continues in this place and time with you as its witness.
